how do you look at life?
|
Time for another test:
If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, you probably have an outside-in viewpoint of life (OIBU) rather than an above-down-inside-out viewpoint (ADIO), at least with regard to matters of health. Let’s look at these viewpoints more closely. There are basically two general views of the world and life, ADIO and OIBU. There are some basic principles with which we can easily contrast the above-down inside-out and the outside-in below-up world and life view.
The first involves the recognition of a higher power, and Intelligence or Being that is greater and smarter that the finite mind of man. ADIO The ADIO viewpoint recognizes that it is this principle of organization that holds the world together, organizing everything from the atom to the galaxies. No matter how smart we are, no matter how much education we have, we could not build even one living, human cell. Yet the human body makes 300 million every minute. Recognition of a greater wisdom than ourselves is the basic principle of the ADIO world and life viewpoint. OIBU Contrasting outside-in worldview is that here is no wisdom or power greater than the educated mind of mankind. It maintains that life is merely a chemical experiment and that there is no vitalistic phenomena controlling the life process. They believe that one day, given enough education, they will mix the chemicals in just the right manner to make and keep people healthy and even creating a living organism.
2nd Disagreement ADIO: Man’s physical problems are caused by internal factors. Something is wrong with the individual that causes him or her to begin to lose their health and eventually manifests disease symptoms. OIBU: Man’s physical problems are caused by external factors. The medical field generally sees the cause as coming from outside the organism. They maintain that germs cause disease, ragweed pollen causes hay-fever, smoking causes cancer, cholesterol causes heart disease. Most people believe this idea. Germs, pollen, smoking and cholesterol are perfect examples of how we may fail to utilize our philosophy in all aspects of our life. It is true they all are factors in disease, but only influencing factors. To say they are the cause is a half-truth and a half-truth is not the truth. Think about it. If ragweed pollen caused hay fever, everybody would have hay fever. We all breathe in the ragweed pollen. Obviously, hay fever is caused by a body that is not producing a chemical necessary to neutralize the pollen and adapt the body to it. Those people whose bodies produce that chemical in sufficient quantity never have hay fever. Those that produce it fairly well are only bothered when the pollen count gets exceptionally high, higher than their body can handle. The degree that the body produces that chemical will determine the severity of the symptoms or the presence of the disease at all.
3rd Disagreement ADIO: The cure for man’s physical problems must come from within. Health comes from allowing the Innate Intelligence of the body to heal from inside-out. Healing takes place by the internal wisdom creating healthy cells within the body to replace sick and damaged ones. New healthy tissue is not introduced into the body from the outside, it is produced within. True health care professionals who are successful recognize their role in the restoration of health. They play a very humble, very minor role. They do not heal people or cure people. They do not take credit for the so-called “miracles” that are seen every day in their offices. They acknowledge that their procedure does not cure. It merely brings the innate intelligence of the body into right relationship with they physical matter. What occurs after that is strictly a function of the body. OIBU: The cure for man’s physical problems will come from outside. The outside-in tenet that says the cure will come from outside is a logical extension of its philosophy. If there is no wisdom greater than the educated mind of mankind, then it is up to him to find and provide all the answers to mankind’s problems. The medical field has had some limited success in treating mankind’s problems. The temporary alleviation of diseases and their symptoms have encouraged them to continue their outside-in efforts. They believe that if they can temporarily relieve disease, then it is only a matter of time before they come up with a technique, procedure or drug that will do it for extended periods of time. If you treat the disease long enough, eventually it will not matter any longer. The outside-in approach wants to spend money researching disease. Unfortunately, they hold the purse strings. The above-down inside-out approach wants to research health. If money were the answer, at least one disease would most certainly be cured by now. Jerry Lewis has raised more money for muscular dystrophy than probably any group has for any other disease. Yet the disease still occurs. Are you beginning to see the differences between these viewpoints and how one leads to a health improving life and the other leaves you waiting to be sick. Does it seem more reasonable that lack of resistance is a greater cause of the common cold than a virus or bacteria? Does it seem more logical to get the chemistry of the body to balance than to take allergy medication? If you are starting to question long-standing beliefs, there is hope for you.
